How to Care for a Silk-Filled Duvet
A silk-filled duvet insert and its removable cover are separate items. The cover's wash instructions do not automatically apply to the insert. Check the sewn-in care label for the exact duvet before you clean either part.
Protect the insert
Use a removable cover that fits the duvet. Follow the cover's own label for regular cleaning. Keep the insert dry, and give it time to air out according to its care label before storing it.
If the insert gets a spill or stain
Blot fresh liquid gently with a clean cloth. Avoid rubbing or saturating the filling. Do not machine wash, tumble dry, spot-treat with chemicals, or send the insert for dry cleaning unless its own care label permits that method. For a larger stain or an unclear label, ask a qualified textile cleaner or contact The Silk Space for guidance about the specific product.
Store it carefully
Store the duvet only when fully dry. Follow the product's storage instructions and avoid placing heavy items on top for long periods. Check it before use after storage.
